Privacy Policy

Plain-English privacy.

Last updated: 2026-05-24

This is the policy for the marketing website (polodeck.app) and the app (game.polodeck.app). It explains what we collect, what we don't do, and how to ask us about your data.

Who we are

PoloDeck (ABN 65 164 595 896) is an Australian-based, Sydney team building the in-game performance platform for water polo. We're reachable at hello@polodeck.app for any privacy question.

What data we collect

We try to collect as little as we can while still running a useful product. In practice that means:

  • Account email — so you can sign in via magic-link and we can send you account-related messages.
  • Game data you create — the events, decisions, assessments, players and referees you log inside a match record.
  • Locked report content — the read-only view of a game that you choose to share with a player, referee, or fellow coach via a secure link.
  • Basic technical logs — limited server and error logs (for example, when a sync request fails) so we can keep the product working.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't run ads, and we don't share your data with ad networks.
  • We don't share game data with anyone except the recipients you explicitly grant access to via a locked share link.
  • We don't hand your data to third parties beyond the infrastructure providers that host the service for us (see “How we store data” below).

How we store data

PoloDeck is an offline-first Progressive Web App. That means the first place your data lives is on your device — events you tap during a game are written locally and sync to the cloud when you have a connection.

Our cloud sync is provided by Supabase, our cloud database and authentication provider. Game data is stored in their managed PostgreSQL infrastructure, and access is gated by row-level security policies so other accounts cannot read your games.

Locked report sharing

Locked reports are how data leaves your account. When you share a report — to a referee, a player, or a fellow coach — the recipient opens a secure link in their browser and sees only what that specific share grants. They can't see other games, other reports, or anything you haven't shared with them.

Recipients don't need to create an account to read a locked report. If they later claim an account on PoloDeck, the reports they've already been given access to follow them across clubs and seasons.

Your rights under the Australian Privacy Act

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. That means you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction— ask us to fix anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Deletion— ask us to delete your account and the game data attached to it. Locked reports you've already shared may persist with their recipients in line with the access you granted.
  • Complaint— if you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy request, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Cookies & analytics

We don't run third-party advertising or tracking analytics on this site. The app uses essential cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to make offline-first sync work — that's it.

Children

PoloDeck is a beta product designed for clubs, federations, and adult officials. Water polo juniors play the game, but accounts should be managed by a coach, parent, or guardian. We don't intend the product for direct use by anyone under 13 without parental supervision and a coach-managed account.

Contact for data requests

Email hello@polodeck.app for anything in this policy — access, correction, deletion, or general questions about how we handle your data.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. For significant changes that affect existing accounts we'll also notify you by email or in-app.
